Around midnight you begin the challenging ascent to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The climb follows steep switchbacks through scree and snow to Gilman\u2019s Point (5,700 m)<\/strong> on the crater rim. From there you continue along the rim to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 m)<\/strong> \u2014 the highest point in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After celebrating at the summit and taking photos, you descend to Kibo Hut for lunch before continuing to Horombo Hut<\/strong> for dinner and overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
